Meet the team: Simon Woolley – Editor

Simon was introduced to the cult of old Fords after picking up a copy of Street Machine magazine featuring two slammed, South London Mk1 Cortinas back in the early 1990s.

Soon after, a Mk1 Escort was bought (RS2000 stripes, 1760 Crossflow, rotten floors…) and he has never been without a blue oval of some description since.

The interest rapidly grew into a big-bore obsession, with numerous 60s and 70s Fords being bought, built and sold throughout the 1990s, before blagging his way onto Classic Ford magazine (for the first time) as editor in 1998.

A decade on, and Simon is back at the helm of the UK’s best-selling old Ford mag, still loving every minute of it, and still trying to sneak new projects into the lock-up without his wife noticing…
