Meet the team: Marc Stretton — contributor

Bungle has a rich history of crumbly classic Ford ownership, which he’s only too happy to tell us about.

Marc Stretton, aka Bungle (don’t ask), has been a car collector since amassing a cupboardful of Corgis, Dinkys and Majorette toy motors by the age of seven. His first classic Ford memories are of a Daytona Yellow Mk3 Cortina with black vinyl roof, owned by his uncle and his dad’s 1976 Signal Green 1100S Fiesta. He can recall owning at least 40 classic Fords over the years, the first of which was a terminally rusty (but remarkably tested) Mk2 Cortina 1600E and at present owns a rare two-door Corsair, built in 1963 and the second oldest known survivor of the model.

Working his way up from scrapyard dogsbody to qualified mechanic, Marc somehow convinced somebody he could string a few words together and in 2000 joined A&S Publishing as… well, a dogsbody again. In 2002 he joined the staff of Classic Ford, occupying the editor’s chair for a couple of years before jumping ship to go freelance, proving to be the best writer they’ve ever had (I’m not writing this myself you know).

Away from the mag Marc is an unprofessional gambler and part-time Chris Moyles look-a-like with a Classic Rock show on Stroud 107.9FM (www.stroudfm.co.uk) every Sunday evening at 9 pm…
