Project Cars Update: Simon’s Corsair V4

Project Cars Update: Simon’s Corsair V4

It’s minor update time – with the emphasis definitely on the ‘minor’ part…

The Corsair is currently being partially restored at the moment, as the planned tidy-up for the MoT has escalated into something much more serious!

Meantime, in a bid to remind me what the Corsair should be looking like by now, old Ford nut and modelmaker, Darron van Cuylenburg (aka DAZZA on the Old Skool Ford forum) sent me this superb pint-sized version of my car!

Based on a two-door model he picked up while on holiday, he set about bare-metalling it and repainting it in black over blue (with colour-coded rear bumper), before opening the wheel wells up, seriously lowering it and adding banded steels, made from a mixture of Hot Wheels and Corgi components.

It looks the absolute business, and confirms the colour scheme I have planned (see Simon Coulson’s illustration above) is going to work a treat.

If you want to see more of Darron’s work check out the ‘Old Skool Ford Models’ pages on www.oldskoolford.co.uk.

Classic Ford Show 2010

Classic Ford Show - the premier day out for Ford enthusiasts. After the Saturday evening shenanigans which involved a pub quiz, live bands and a few beers, those polishing rags were back out again, as thousands of old Fords - many of which had been readied especially for the show, including four for The Great Unveiling, were parked up on club stands or the fire-up lane for the strip.
