Fords have inspired many people throughout history, and a reader got in touch this month with some interesting musical facts about the Cortina.

Simon Jones who runs the excellent World Of Cortina site contacted us to tell us he’s been tracking down Ford Cortina records from around the world, and we published his letter in the September 2010 issue.

He counted at least 23 songs with Cortina in the title, and there are even more where the car is mentioned in the lyrics, plus Samantha Jones’ and Alexi Sayle’s songs were used to promote the Mk3 and Mk4 Cortinas. By our calculations, this makes 32 in total…
