For the first time ever, passengers will be allowed on the track at Ford Fair.

Previously the 20-minute public track sessions were for car and driver only, but Silverstone have relaxed the rules to allow front-seat passengers, too.

Passenger passes are valid all day and cost £10 (available on the day from the Brooklands Suite). Signed-on drivers wishing to go out as passengers do not need to purchase a passenger pass.

To take part, you must be over 18 years-old and over 4 ft 8 in tall, have signed an indemnity form, be wearing a crash helmet and have your arms and legs covered – we recommend you bring your own helmet.

If you want to take your classic Ford on track, there are still some places left (including the classic Fords-only session at 12 pm). Sessions cost £25 each in advance (£30 on the day), and can be booked by calling 01225 732262.

Supported by Classic Ford, Ford Fair is Europe’s biggest Ford festival, and takes place at Silverstone Circuit on August 3. For more information and advance tickets, click here.

"This year we're recognising the stylish and practical Estate as our feature model at the show," says the club's Aubone Braddon. "There are only about 90 Estates on the club's register - less in numbers than the Anglia van!"

The AGM is at Stratford Park Racecourse on August 17, and they're sharing the showground with the Cortina MkI Owners' Club, Cortina MkII Owners' Club and Corsair Owners' Club - if you've got a '60s Ford, make sure you get there!
