Pin broken off on one of your classic Ford’s bonnet, boot or wing badges? Don’t throw it away — here’s how to repair a badge the easy way.
First, cut the offending item off and file the face of the badge flat.
Drill a slightly oversize hole in the rear of the badge. Select a new pin (pop rivet pins are ideal, as they are tinned and solder very well).
Heat the badge and apply some flux. With the pin in place, wait for the solder to flow and allow to cool.
File off any excess solder, cut the new pin to length, and with new clips in place it’s ready for use.
