It’s hot off the press and out today – welcome to the Classic Ford August 2017 edition!
Can you remember your first time in a turbocharged car — that addictive surge as the boost kicked in? While Ford made a point of channelling that addiction into their performance line-up in the ’80s, for some there’s a need to take things even further.
Retro-fitting a turbo set-up to a classic Ford used to be a fairly complex and often expensive task, but not necessarily anymore. Whether it’s taking a complete package such as the ever-popular Cosworth YB and associated running gear, like Wayne Cullum has done with his exquisite Mk1 Escort, or putting a kit together using a series of easily-available components such as Chester Sportscar’s clever Mk3 Capri, there’s something for every budget in this bumper-boosted edition.
Before that though, we report back from a sizzling Santa Pod and the Classic Ford Show with quite possibly the biggest and most-varied line-up of show and club cars yet, and proof that the old Ford scene has never been in ruder health.
