The year 1959 was an important one for the British automotive industry, with the BMC Mini, Triumph Herald, Saab 95 and of course, Ford’s Anglia 105E all being launched within months of each other. And while the Mini in particular may be getting all the tributes at the moment, we’re here to redress the balance for the mighty Anglebox — a car that forged its own path, and set the course for Ford for the next two decades.
It’s hard to believe that the 105E is 60 — a car that continues to be an important part of the classic Ford scene. We pay our respects in the Classic Ford October 2019 issue, and have chosen a couple of cracking feature cars (well, a car and a van…) that reflect both the original and tuning roads that you can take with one. Speaking of which, we bet that Cosworth, Superspeed, Broadspeed and the like would have never imagined 60 years on we’d still be messing around with these great cars!
